Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas | Arts & Culture

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The 15th Annual Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas is not too far off...a full slate of activities kicks off next week in Charlotte.  It's four full days of celebration, including live music, a parade, fashion show, drum circle, youth seminars, craft workshops, drama and dance, health information, vendors, exotic food and fellowship. 

This special event, hosted by the House of Africa presents the history of slavery in America and commemorates its ending.  The festival serves to examine the cultural heritage of slaves and their descendants through art, education and research, and cultivating the true spirit of freedom.
